GENUINELY SOUTHERN FORESTS GOLDEN YUZU COCKTAIL

Golden Yuzu Cocktail on table

Bright, zesty, and beautifully balanced, this Golden Yuzu Cocktail showcases the vibrant flavour of fresh, in-season yuzu from the Southern Forests region. Paired with smooth Japanese whisky and a splash of soda, it’s a crisp and refreshing cocktail that celebrates the citrusy punch and floral aroma of this rare cool-climate fruit. Simple to make and perfect for sipping, it’s an elegant way to enjoy yuzu at its peak.

 

(Serves 1)

Ingredients:

  • 45ml Japanese whisky (e.g. Suntory Toki or Nikka)

  • 15ml Southern Forest Yuzu juice (fresh or bottled)

  • Soda water, chilled (to top)

  • Ice

  • Yuzu peel or lemon twist, for garnish (optional)

 

Method:

  1. Fill a glass with ice.

  2. Add the whisky and yuzu juice.

  3. Top slowly with chilled soda water (around 100–120 ml), pouring gently to preserve carbonation.

  4. Stir once or twice with a bar spoon to combine - don’t overmix.

  5. Garnish with a strip of yuzu peel or lemon twist, if desired.

 

Tips: 

  • Use fresh rainwater from the Southern Forests region, and carbonate with a SodaStream.

  • Chill your glass and soda water beforehand for extra crispness.
