Looking for a weeknight dessert sure to please the kids and warm the soul? Let sweet seasonal apples do all the talking with this no fuss apple turnover.


2 large Genuinely Southern Forests apples, peeled, cored and diced

1 tablespoon raw sugar

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon cinnamon

4 sheets of puff pastry

2 free range eggs

1 tablespoon raw sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon


1. Preheat oven/air fryer to 180C

2. Defrost 4 sheets of puff pastry

3. In a saucepan, cook half the apple with sugar and a dash of water, until soft

4. Add remaining apple with butter and cinnamon. Cook until fragrant. Set aside to cool

5. While apple mixture cools, prepare puff pastry by cutting into 10cm x 5 cm rectangles

6. Place 2 teaspoons of apple mixture onto half of each rectangle

7. Beat eggs and brush onto edge of rectangles before folding pastry over the apple mixture and pressing shut

8. Using a fork press around the edges to ensure a firm closure

9. Gently prick the top of the parcels with a fork, brush lightly with egg mixture and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture

10. Bake in oven or in air fryer for 10 minutes

11. Turn over and cook for further 5 minutes

12. Eat warm as is or with custard or cool and enjoy anytime.
