DAMPER GULLY FARMS IN THE SOUTHERN FORESTS: WHERE PREMIUM POTATOES MEET REGENERATIVE FARMING IN MANJIMUP

At Damper Gully Farms in Manjimup, farming is more than a livelihood, it is a living legacy. Andrew and Lisa Falcinella are raising their three children on 330 acres in the heart of the Southern Forests, nurturing not only crops and cattle, but the next generation’s connection to land, food and community.

For Andrew, farming isn’t just a career, it is in his blood. A third-generation grower, he carries forward the knowledge of his father Paul and grandfather Valentino, backed by 25 years of hands-on experience shaped by seasons that have taught patience, precision and resilience.

A smiling man and woman pose behind a table of potatoes in a field with hay bales. The sky is cloudy. Both wear dark shirts.

Damper Gully Farms produces potatoes, pumpkins and beef across two properties, growing around 1,500 tonnes of potatoes each year. With 12 varieties in the ground, diversity strengthens both their offering and their resilience. Their standout? The Prince of Orange potato, known for its vibrant colour, creamy texture and rich flavour. It’s a customer favourite for good reason.

For the Falcinella’s, flavour and freshness are non-negotiable. Every crop reflects the Genuinely Southern Forests promise: genuinely fresh, flavour-led produce grown with care and integrity in Western Australia’s premier growing region. From planting through to harvest, the focus is on quality you can taste and provenance you can trust.

The real magic at Damper Gully Farms happens underground.

Here sustainability isn’t just a slogan, it is a daily practice. Damper Gully Farms prioritises soil health by limiting compaction, reducing unnecessary tillage and planting ground-repairing cover crops to naturally rebuild soil structure and biology. It’s regenerative agriculture in action: building life below the surface so every harvest is stronger than the last. And you get to benefit as healthier plants build healthier soils, which in turn deliver more nutritious, flavour-filled produce, a simple philosophy with long-term impact.

A light green pumpkin rests in a lush, green field under a cloudy sky. The vibrant leaves and dramatic clouds create a moody atmosphere.

Technology plays its part too, with their automated irrigation system delivering water with precision and efficienc to protect both crop performance and precious resources. Then there is “Arnie”, their drone, which applies targeted nutrition from above without heavy machinery rolling through the paddock, less impact, smarter inputs, better outcomes.

That balance of old-school wisdom and thoughtful innovation is what keeps Damper Gully Farms evolving season after season.

Living and farming in the Southern Forests shapes everything they do. The region’s cool-climate conditions, reliable rainfall and fertile soils create the perfect environment for premium produce, but it is the integrity of its growers that truly defines it. Here, provenance matters. Care matters. Reputation matters

Being part of the Genuinely Southern Forests brand connects Damper Gully Farms beyond the farm gate, giving customers confidence in where their food comes from and who grows it.

For the Falcinella’s success isn’t measured in tonnes alone, but in the steady progression towards healthier soil, smarter systems and a farm that will thrive for generations to come.

During harvest (February to May), you can find Damper Gully Farms potatoes at The Naked Pantry and Hound and Hunter in Manjimup, as well as the Galloway Springs stall in Glenlynn.
