A GROWING LEGACY: SOUTHERN FORESTS FOOD COUNCIL CELEBRATES 13 YEARS OF IMPACT

The Southern Forests Food Council (SFFC) held its 13th Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, 28 October 2025, bringing together members, local representatives, and community leaders to celebrate a successful year and discuss future priorities.

The meeting, attended by Local MP Bevan Eatts, Manjimup Shire Councillor Andy Burns, former Shire Councillor Cliff Winfield, and four former SFFC Chairs, provided a moment of reflection on the Council’s achievements and the enduring leadership that has shaped the region’s progress over more than a decade.

Highlights included the endorsement of the Chair and Treasurer’s reports, which outlined achievements across branding, industry development, and community engagement. The reports also reaffirmed the Council’s ongoing commitment to securing long-term financial stability, advancing sustainability initiatives, and promoting mental health and well-being within the region.

Members welcomed three new representatives to the Committee of Management — Ewan Eatts, Jennifer Riseley, and Sheralee Stoddart — who bring fresh energy and ideas to the Council’s leadership team.

The SFFC Committee of Management 2025/26 includes:

  • Dr Arthur Wilson – Executive Chair

  • Monica Radomiljac – Vice Chair

  • Tyler Radomiljac – Treasurer

  • Jennifer Riseley – Secretary

  • Ewan Eatts

  • Sheralee Stoddart

The meeting also celebrated the success of the Southern Forests Young Growers (SFYG) group, which has rapidly grown to over 70 members. Emerging from a Food Council event for young farmers, the group provides a valuable network for younger growers, fostering professional development, mutual support, and mental well-being. SFYG is set to launch a new membership tier and will host an official launch and National Ag Day event in November to continue building engagement and opportunities for the next generation.

Local MP Bevan Eatts commended the Food Council for its “outstanding contribution to the region’s reputation and economic vitality.”

“The Southern Forests Food Council has played a pivotal role in putting this region on the map. Its work in regional branding, sustainability, and industry development has a clear multiplier effect - every dollar invested here goes further,” Mr Eatts said.

“I particularly want to recognise the dedication of the committee and staff for their efforts in driving this success. I encourage the newer and younger members to continue building on this legacy, maintaining the Council’s strong leadership and advocacy for our region.”

SFFC Chair Dr Arthur Wilson thanked all members and supporters for their continued commitment and collaboration:

“This year’s AGM was a testament to the strength and unity of our community. The support of our members, partners, and regional leaders continues to drive the Council’s mission forward,” Dr Wilson said.

“As we look ahead, our focus remains on advancing sustainability, supporting our producers’ wellbeing, and showcasing our world-class produce through the Genuinely Southern Forests brand. Together, we’re strengthening our regional identity and building a vibrant, resilient future for the Southern Forests.”
